Six Flags AstroWorld 1993 home video
0
J. Taylor
I just digitized and uploaded family home video from my June 1993 AstroWorld park visit. I loved this park growing up and went three times before it was sadly closed. There was so much history here including numerous first of their kind rides documented elsewhere. I was reminded that AstroWorld included great entertainment as well; they still had a diving how in their "Aquarena" and a 180-degree projection show; both of which had already been removed from my home park, Six Flags Over Texas. The "Greezed Lightin'" was my favorite coaster, though this season was all about the new for '93 "Batman The Escape" stand-up coaster (relocated from Six Flags Magic Mountain). Memories sweet...this and Opryland should still be with us!!

This was awesome to see! Thank you so much for sharing your memories! There isn’t a ton of stuff out there from the early days at Fiesta Texas. Hope to meet you this weekend at Fiesta Fest! It’ll be a great first event.

First Visit to Cedar Point
0
J. Vinson
Being able to finally visit Cedar Point this past summer was everything I expected and more, I understand why this park gets the praise it does! My favorite coaster memory is riding Dragster for the first time, the adrenaline I got from anticipating the launch and the height is unforgettable. The sheer amount of great coasters there is something I don't get at most other parks I visit, and it felt unreal just to be on the peninsula and ride thrill machines like Maverick and Steel Vengeance, etc. Can't wait for the 2020 season!

Double Rollback
7
Garrett S. Horwath
My girlfriend and I went to CoasterMania at CP a little over a month ago. We were in line for ERT for TTD around 12:30am. Got on and waited to be launched. Keep in mind that everyone on the ride was also there for CoasterMania and we all wanted a rollback. We get launched and I noticed we weren't going as fast as "normal" (I've been on TTD a good 30 times). Next thing I know, we were rolling back down the tower. Everyone was cheering! It was an indescribable feeling. They slowly pull our train back to the launching spot, not back into the station. We waited there for several minutes before, all of a sudden, the Christmas tree comes on and they launch us without warning. A lot of us were in mid-sentence; it was unexpected. We made it over that time. It. Was. Amazing. There were A LOT of rollbacks that day. TTD was having a crabby day. LOL :)

C. Knight
Sounds like you have some great stories to tell! -- David L.C. Knight said:Wow, well, after spending almost 15 years working in the amusement industry........ I have a lot!!Getting vallied trains out is always fun!! I'd say being the first to valley Riddlers Revenge, and, luckily, having a crane onsite, to get it craned onto the back road piece by piece, and getting the ride opened back up by 3pm........ With only two trains, of course..... It was worth the O.T., plus I felt a bit guilty. There were a few others...... Like Viper, and Rusher were always fun. Doing the testing of U.O's Revenge of the Mummy...... LONG hours, but man, we worked great as a team!!!Good times for sure. I miss them a lot!!!
