S&S Worldwide Inc. (S&S) has announced that its largest shareholder, Larsen MacColl Partners LP, has recently acquired majority ownership in the company, including all shares previously held by company founder Stan Checketts.
In February 2009, Larsen MacColl Partners, based in Radnor, Pennsylvania, acquired a significant equity interest in S&S. The Koffman family and affiliated shareholders will maintain their ownership interest. Stan Checketts, who founded S&S in 1994 along with his wife, is no longer a shareholder and has ended his consulting relationship with the company in order to pursue other business interests.
S&S Power is widely known for developing the Space Shot, followed by another type of drop tower called the Turbo Drop. S&S has since brought together a ride lineup familiar to us all, including (but not limited to) Steel Hawg (Indiana Beach), Powder Keg (Silver Dollar City), Hellcat (Clementon Lake), Dodonpa (Fuji-Q Highland) and the former Hypersonic XLC (Kings Dominion). S&S is also known worldwide for its Screamin’ Swings and Frog Hoppers.
Larsen MacColl anticipates the continued strong growth by S&S, both domestically and internationally. S&S will continue to be led by Rich Allen, President and CEO, while Kevin Rohwer will maintain his role as Vice President, Sales and Marketing.
