Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, IL, will introduce a brand new, triple-record-breaking wooden roller coaster that will redefine the park's skyline. Goliath will be the world's fastest wooden coaster with the tallest and steepest drop.
Climbing a 165-foot lift hill, Goliath will begin with an initial 180-foot drop into an underground tunnel at a near-vertical 85 degrees and reach speeds of up to 71 miles per hour – the fastest of any wooden roller coaster. Goliath will thunder around surprising curves and outrageous twists, including three intense over-banked turns, a 180-degree zero G-roll twist, and two wild inversions: an inverted drop and a spiraling inverted zero G-stall.
Goliath will be an extreme, record-breaking, first-of-its-kind roller coaster, and it is set to debut in spring 2014 in the County Fair section of the park where Iron Wolf stood from 1990 to 2011.
