Cedar Point officially announced it is planning a new winged coaster called Gatekeeper for 2013. It will be the longest winged roller coaster and boast the longest drop of any winged roller coaster in the world.

Gatekeeper, the latest creation from Bolliger & Mabillard, will take 32 riders up the 170-foot lift and drop them 164 feet at speeds reaching up to 67 miles per hour. The ride will take 2 minutes 40 seconds along 4,164 feet of twisted light blue steel track. Among the elements will be a wing over drop, Immelmann, 105-foot camelback, giant flat spin, a zero-G roll, inclined loop dive, and a 360-degree in-line roll.

Gatekeeper, whose G-roll element takes riders through two support towers that will dominate Cedar Point's new main entrance, is scheduled to debut in May 2013.
