LA RONDE WORKER DIES IN ACCIDENT

A 67-year-old employee entered a restricted zone and was fatally struck by Vampire, the B&M inverted coaster, on Friday afternoon. Investigations into the man's death have not ruled out the possibility the worker's death was a suicide.

Initial reports indicated that the ride was operated correctly and that the zone around the ride was safe. They also indicated the employee didn't advise the ride operator and didn't follow the protocol in place by entering the locked, restricted security zone during the ride operation.

Vampire will remain closed for an indefinite period of time. La Ronde will remain open.
