Officials at Thrill-Ville USA, in Turner, Oregon have announced they will not open for the 2008 season, and the park will most likely close permanently.
Thrill-Ville is owned by the Vettrus brothers, who own both Thrill-Ville and an adjacent KOA campground. They opened the amusement park in the 1970s with just go-karts. Escalating liability insurance and a lax economy were cited as reasons for closing.
Thrill-Ville is home to Ripper a 1971 Schwarzkopf Jet Star that originally came from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, and Little Ripper a Schiff/Molina kiddie coaster.
