Though technically not a roller coaster, our good friends at Schlitterbahn have announced a new attraction that should appeal to most roller coaster enthusiasts. Dragon’s Revenge is a heavily themed remodel of the original Dragon Blaster, the world’s first uphill waterslide. Within the new castle theming, riders will experience spinning tunnels, theatrical lighting, fiber optics, riveting original music, aromatic atmosphere, fog, faux fire and an encounter with an angry dragon.
The 1,364 foot long Dragon Blaster opened in 1994 at the original Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort in New Braunfels, Texas. It featured eight uphill water sections and a 30 foot plunge finale. Schlitterbahn expanded on the Dragon Blaster concept and opened Master Blaster in 1996, considered to be the number one waterpark ride by various publications for many, many years.
Schlitterbahn Waterpark Resort opens for the season on Saturday, April 26. Dragon's Revenge will premiere during the ACE Regional event SchlitterCon on Memorial Day weekend. For more information including animation of the new attraction visit Schlitterbahn’s website.
