What is being referred to as "the world's most daring wood coaster" will debut in 2013 at Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. The park claims that the coaster, Outlaw Run, will have the world's steepest drop on a wood coaster at 81-degrees; will be the world's second fastest wood coaster with speeds up to 68 miles per hour; AND it will be the only wood coaster to twist upside down. Yes, upside down.
Outlaw Run will include a record-breaking three inversions; a 720-degree (double) barrel roll and a 153-degree outside banked turn.
The $10 million creation by Rocky Mountain Construction Group (RMC) has a 162-foot first drop, will stretch for 2,937 feet, and will provide a ride that will last for 1 minute, 27 seconds. Other features include a 100-foot double down, a double up, a high speed float and custom RMC topper track. The company is expected to be providing the trains as well. No word yet on what type of restraints will be used to secure riders, but the renderings do not indicate that over-the-shoulder restraints will be used.
Outlaw Run is expected to debut in Spring 2013.
