Although rumors persisted the last couple of weeks, there was never any official word from the park. Now, dismantling of Chang, the B&M standup coaster has begun. It is presumably headed to another Six Flags park.
According to a local television station the coaster is being removed in order to expand the existing waterpark.
Chang opened in 1997, and at the time was the tallest and longest standup coaster, taking away the record from Cedar Point which had opened Mantis just one year prior.
Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom was home to seven coasters, but Twisted Twins closed in 2008 and has been standing idle the last two seasons.
